Tim O'Shea

Membership elder* | THEBOARD@THEORCHARD.CHURCH (*Elder)

Tim grew up in Arlington Heights, graduating from Rolling Meadows High School and then from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he studied mechanical engineering. He currently uses his engineering background to manage product development for a manufacturer of valves for municipal water and wastewater systems. Tim grew up trying to be a “good kid.” Schoolwork came relatively easy for him and living a relatively moral life didn’t seem much harder. However, while at a youth group event in 8th grade, the truth of the gospel suddenly hit home – making him realize that only through repenting from his sin and, in faith, accepting Jesus’ free gift of salvation could he be right with the Lord.

Tim has been married to his wife, Therese, since 2004, and together they stay busy raising their four children: Ben, Moriah, Ethan, and Zeke. The O’Shea’s make their home in Palatine. Therese works in admissions at Christian Heritage Academy in Northfield.

After moving from Chicago, Tim and his family began attending The Orchard Barrington in 2014. Three years later Tim and Therese became members of the church. With a heart for seeing young people turn to Jesus and grow strong in following Him, Tim currently serves in Student Ministries, where he leads the 6th grade boys on Wednesday night, and assists Pastor Josh Newton with high school Sunday School.
