Evidence of God at work
Whether you’ve been attending church your whole life or exploring a new church home, we’re all looking for a place to grow, plant roots and deepen our faith in Jesus Christ.
Since our inception in 1953, The Orchard has been grounded in the Word of God. From our humble beginnings, we share a deep commitment to bring the good news of Jesus to others in our local communities and around the world.
1953
The Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church was formed.
1970
The church moved to its current location on Douglas Ave. in Arlington Heights.
1982 - 1985
A fire destroyed most of the sanctuary with extensive smoke damage to the rest of the building. The church met at Hersey High School until the building was restored.
2006
The Membership made the decision to become a multi-site church.
2008
The church changed its name to The Orchard Evangelical Free Church.
2010
November - The former Living Hope Fellowship in Itasca reopened as The Orchard Itasca.
December - The Orchard Barrington held its first worship service at the former JKF Health World Children’s Museum.
2013
July - Covenant Baptist Church became The Orchard Marengo.
2017
The Orchard Northfield launched at Christian Heritage Academy.
2020
The Orchard Vernon Hills started meeting and moved into its permanent location in 2021.
