Vernon Lawson

Vernon is an educator and the Fine Arts Coordinator in the East Maine D63 School District in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago where he has served since 2015. Prior to that he served as the Director of Music for The Salvation Army Chicago Metropolitan Division and the Director of Education and Arts for The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. He has introduced music programs into more than 12 underserved Chicago Public Schools and implemented after school music programs in neighborhoods throughout the city as part of the Let The Music Begin Initiative. 

He spends his spare time enjoying the outdoors with his wife Dana and two daughters, Angela and Aurelia, and two rescue dogs, Bo and Buttercup.  He also likes to ride and restore old motorcycles and study Gods Word in Bible Study Fellowship where he has been serving in leadership for 12 years.
