Stephanie Bucataru

Stephanie grew up in a loving, Christian family in Arlington Heights. God opened her eyes when she was a child to know that Jesus is King of Kings and Savior of the world. At 15 years old, Stephanie decided to follow Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Stephanie studied at Kalamazoo College in Michigan and is now a part-time teacher at a local Christian classical school. Stephanie met her husband, Gabi, in Romania. They were married in 1997 and lived there for three years. While in Romania, they adopted their two oldest children who are now adults. After settling back in the United States, Gabi and Stephanie adopted three girls from Chicago — Kea, Corrie, and Sophie. Stephanie and her family have been attending The Orchard since 2000. She participates in a LIFE Group, helps run the Christian Advocacy group that prays for the persecuted church, and serves by teaching Sunday school and Awana Cubbies.
