Laura Eder

Laura was born in Chicago and grew up in the suburbs, attending Prospect High School, Harper College, and Northeastern Illinois University. She works for Open the Bible as the Ministry Partner Manager. Though raised in a church setting, Laura did not understand the gospel until she began attending a Bible study and reading the Bible for herself during middle school. She realized over time that she was a sinner and could never live a good enough life to be right with God. Laura turned to Jesus Christ in repentant faith and continues to trust Him as Lord and Savior. Laura met her husband Dan in 1983 while both working for Lou Malnati’s. They live in Elk Grove Village and have been married for 33 years. They share three adult children, Caitlin (26) and twins, Maggie and Ryan (24). They welcomed Ryan’s wife, Shawnee, into the family at their wedding this summer. Laura began attending The Orchard in 1989, became a member in 1990 and married Dan at The Orchard Arlington Heights that same year. Laura was a member of The Orchard staff from 2007-2016. She has served in Childrens Ministry, on Welcome Teams, facilitated lay-leader training, been a member of the Nominating Committee and a LIFE Group leader.
