Ninhursag Avakian from The Orchard North Shore shared the following testimony about how she has seen God work in her life by calling her to serve.

I serve with the middle school girls and the young adults both at the North Shore campus and at the all church gatherings. I have been so blessed to be serving in all three ministries and have been able to grow in each role.

With the middle school girls, I have been blessed to see a student give her life to the Lord and get the honor of walking alongside her in her journey with Christ as her leader.

I have also seen the girls come together and fellowship with one another in a way that is different from worldly friendships. We have been able to study the word of God together and create (by God’s help) an environment where the girls can ask questions and seek out answers about their faith. It’s been so beautiful to serve with the girls, and I praise God for the ministry and the girls often.

As I serve with the young adults at North Shore, although it’s a whole different ministry and age group it blesses me so much to know that I go to a church with other like- minded believers and young adults. At the North Shore young adults gatherings, we meet the last Sunday of the month and go through a chapter of the book of the Bible we are reading through that year. Last year we read through 1 and 2 Thessalonians and discussed who we are as Christian’s and that before anything, our identity is in Christ.

While serving with the all church young adults, I have been so thankful to be part of the ministry as I have seen the ministry almost double in size since we started. I have seen many young adults who are either looking for community in the church and are happy to find it here, or some that are looking for the Lord and have been enriched by the ministry and what the Lord is doing in and through it.

One story that has really made me praise God and has blessed me is a story about a young man who got invited to come to church for Easter while he was working one day. When he came he talked to Pastor Mike and ended up coming to the Young Adults Gathering. He came for a year and continually sought out community. Over time Mike checked in with him and the Lord has since started to change his life.

Through serving here at the Orchard, I have grown in faith, hope, and love and in leadership and I praise God for this!

The Orchard Itasca shared the following testimony about Kenny's baptism during their weekly Sunday service. Kenny is a resident of the Forest View Nursing and Rehab Facility in Itasca where our people have been ministering for the past two years. Kenny and his friend, Karen now regularly attend services, and Kenny was baptized on Sunday, September 28. We rejoice in the fruit that is being born through this ministry! We are also excited that one of the couples who regularly participates in the ministry has plans to offer a Bible study at the facility. We pray that The Orchard Itasca will continue to bring light and hope to the residents and staff!

The Orchard Itasca shared the following testimony about how they are ministering at Forest View Nursing Home. A man named Christian is a resident at the Forest View Nursing Home where our people go to minister quarterly. He likely has some form of Parkinson’s Disease and because of this has lost most of the function in his hands and feet. Some of our people have visited with Christian on previous trips. At our July visit, a couple from our church Mike and Deb Marunde went to his room. Since it had been a few months since our last visit, they didn’t think he would remember them. However, when they introduced themselves, Christian looked up and said “Mike!” He remembered! He looked at Mike and said, “I miss you.”

David Althoff from The Orchard Barrington shared the following testimony about how he has seen God work in his life at his baptism. For most of my life, I carried the weight of the world on my shoulders. I believed in Jesus, but only in an intellectual way, shaped more by church tradition than by a personal relationship with Him. I thought my success, security, and happiness depended entirely on my own efforts. I worked tirelessly to provide for my family, to control outcomes, and to fix every challenge that came my way. Sin wasn’t something I thought about because I measured life by my own standards, not God’s.
